Some of the finest cars in the world, courtesy of their owners, were on show again yesterday for motoring enthusiasts at the Royal Golf Club, writes Stanley Szecowka.
The inaugural Royal Bahrain Concours 2025, in partnership with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, was set against the stunning backdrop of the Riffa Views course.
The event showcased 60 ‘truly exceptional collector cars’ – 40 from significant GCC nation-based collections, and 20 from around the world.
It was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
Thorough Events, creators of the world-renowned Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace, Concours of Elegance Germany and London Concours, said it was ‘delighted’ with the Bahrain experience.
There was something old and something new for all. A perfect array of classic Porsches, as featured in yesterday’s GDN, were joined by magnificent Mercs and mighty McLarens, alongside a Roller with a modern twist.
Halcyon commenced its Grand Tour of the Arabian Peninsula with the international debut of its first remastered and electrified Rolls-Royce Corniche, the Highland Heather commission, at the Royal Bahrain Concours. It was the first time Halcyon has exhibited its in-house design study and foundational commission outside of the UK.
The Grand Tour will be predominantly comprise private viewings, with the addition of public exhibitions and select iconic drives across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Highland Heather is the first demonstration of Halcyon’s Rolls-Royce remastering services, taking its name and inspiration from the natural majesty of Scotland’s moors while quietly paying tribute to the pioneering spirit of Rolls-Royce’s 1907 Scottish reliability trials. It is the first of 60 one-of-one commissions to be hand-built in Surrey, England.
Additionally, the event also profiled the region’s leading car clubs by bringing together an incredible display of 200 members’ cars in what was described as ‘an indulgent celebration of luxury’.
Car lovers were suitably impressed. “Flawlessly run and genuinely enlightening, the Royal Bahrain Concours combined scholarship with spectacle, making every moment as educational as it was exhilarating,” said George Middleton, founder of Red House Marketing.
