National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday received a delegation from the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) Parliamentary Assembly, led by Lord Lancaster, member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords and chair of the assembly’s defence and security committee.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser underlined the long-standing relations between Bahrain and Nato, and the importance of enhancing strategic partnerships with other countries and international organisations, in a way that supports joint efforts aimed at advancing regional and international security and laying the foundations of stability and peace in the region.
They reviewed and discussed the current regional and international developments, exchanged views on the latest developments and emphasised the need to intensify efforts to end ongoing regional and international conflicts and ensure the preservation of global security and stability.
The meeting also addressed a range of topics and issues of common interest, underlining the importance of working towards achieving sustainable peace in the region and supporting all paths aimed at achieving development and prosperity for the benefit of its peoples.
