His Majesty King Hamad has been presented with the first complete satellite image of the kingdom captured by Bahraini satellite, Al Munther.
It was presented by National Security Adviser, Royal Guard Commander and Supreme Defence Council Secretary General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa during an audience yesterday.
Present were Bahrain Space Agency chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, chief executive officer Dr Mohammed Al Aseeri and senior officials who briefed His Majesty on the progress of the satellite project.
They outlined the satellite’s capabilities, the functions of the ground station and the processes used by the agency to analyse satellite imagery and space-derived data.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the efforts of Shaikh Nasser advancing the agency’s work and supporting it in achieving its objectives.
The King also commended the role of the agency’s board of directors in following up on the implementation of the National Space Policy and the agency’s strategic plans.
