A young St Christopher’s School pupil has died suddenly at home, stunned teachers and the wider school community have been told.
No further details about the cause of death or the child’s nationality have been made public. He is believed to have been eight years old.
When approached for comment, St Christopher's principal Dr Simon Watson shared the message he had sent to all school parents earlier today: "The loss of such a young life is profoundly felt by our entire school community.
"Words do not encapsulate the depth of sadness in this moment of loss and we are working closely with the family to offer our utmost support."
The child's heartbroken parents and siblings are being cared for by family and friends.
