A light earthquake with a magnitude of 3.3 jolted Bahrain in the early hours yesterday, according to a statement released by the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s Meteorological Directorate.
The tremor was recorded north of Askar village at 2.58am local time and was felt by some citizens in the kingdom, the directorate reported.
Social media users reacted to the incident in the early hours yesterday, confirming that residents of Awali, Askar, Hamad Town, Zallaq, Sadad, Shahrakan and Dar Kulaib felt the tremor, which lasted only four seconds.
No damage has been reported.
