Around 3,000 children from 30 schools took part in the largest art competition for students in the kingdom, held recently at the Indian School Bahrain’s (ISB) Isa Town campus.
The 17th edition of the Faber Castell Spectra painting competition, organised by Indian Community Welfare Association (ICRF), was aimed at encouraging and honouring artistic skills among the youth.
ICRF chairman V K Thomas inaugurated the finale by lighting the lamp in the presence of ICRF members, Faber Castell representatives and volunteers. Winners were honoured at the grand ceremony.
Students were divided into four age groups.
Unnati Gupta from New Millennium School (NMS) won in the group for those aged five to eight, Vedha Vijesh from ISB outshone other participants in the eight to 11 group, Adithi Thyagarajan from NMS won in the 11-13 age group and Gopikha Bharathirajan from the Asian School was declared winner in the 14-18 category.
There was also a competition for adults aged 18 and above, which was won by Nitasha Biju.
The top five winners in each category were awarded trophies and certificates, while the top 50 received medals.
Every participant will be presented with a certificate of participation and were provided with drawing material by Faber Castell.
Winning entries will be featured in calendars, which will be released later this month.
