THE 10th anniversary of the Prime Minister’s Fellowship Programme is a significant national milestone in Bahrain’s vision to further upskill its government workforce.
The programme has established a practical framework for encouraging innovation and excellence, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, said yesterday at a ceremony marking its anniversary.
Investing in Bahraini citizens and offering opportunities is fundamental to achieving national success, he pointed out.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised that building national capabilities remains a top priority in enhancing competitiveness and advancing the kingdom’s comprehensive development, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad.
He commended the dedication of the Bahraini government workforce, highlighting their role in strengthening government performance.
HRH Prince Salman committed to the development of the programme to ensure it continues to be a successful initiative and achieves its objectives.
He reiterated the importance of further enhancing the knowledge and skills of the workforce in line with national development priorities, and aligned with global advancements.
The programme has contributed to refining the skills of Bahraini professionals and enabling them to take on leadership roles, HRH Prince Salman said.
He welcomed the success of the programme, with graduates hired to executive positions within the government.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister underscored the importance of Team Bahrain in continuing to support government initiatives aimed at enhancing service quality and improving government efficiency.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa delivered a speech in which he affirmed that the vision and directives of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister form the foundation of the distinguished programme.
The programme is crucial towards preparing national leaders with advanced research, analysis and decision-making skills through intensive training at the Prime Minister’s Office as well as through direct engagement with government entities to implement national initiatives and projects, he said.
Shaikh Isa added that the successful outcomes of the programme clearly reflect the ambitious vision of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
He noted that the graduates have demonstrated distinction across various government workstreams.
The graduates have also contributed to elevating institutional performance and have become models of dedication, achievement and ambition, Shaikh Isa added.
National Bureau for Revenue’s deputy chief executive officer for tax operations Noor Hafez BuAli delivered a speech on behalf of the graduates.
She expressed her gratitude to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his continued support.
The programme represents a pivotal milestone in the professional careers of its graduates, Ms BuAli said.
The programme is designed to place outstanding young Bahraini talents from government entities at the Prime Minister’s Office for a one-year period.
Through advanced training in research, analysis and leadership, fellows are able to enhance their professional capabilities which they can implement in their original roles.
