Southern Governor Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa attended the ‘Southern Celebrations’ festival at Khalifa Grand Park in Riffa, as part of the ongoing series of events and festivities marking the kingdom’s National Days celebrations, the 26th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne and the accompanying national events.
Shaikh Khalifa said the festival reflects ongoing efforts to revive the governorate’s heritage and safeguard the customs and traditions passed down through generations.
The governor noted that the festival is part of a series of activities and programmes aimed at strengthening community partnerships and promoting the values of belonging and citizenship, while introducing visitors to the governorate’s heritage, traditional crafts, professions and industries.
