Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani visited the Muharraq Nights Festival accompanied by the heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited to Bahrain.
Dr Al Zayani was joined by Bilateral Relations director general Ambassador Shaikh Abdulla bin Ali Al Khalifa, Jordanian Ambassador Rami Saleh Wreikat Al Adwan, and other ministry officials.
The Foreign Minister and the ambassadors toured the festival, including several historic houses, Al Qaisariya Market and the Pearl Museum.
They explored the festival’s cultural route, folk arts, and heritage sites that highlight the kingdom’s rich history, the heritage of Muharraq, and its contribution to the nation’s cultural identity.
Dr Al Zayani commended the efforts of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca) in organising the festival and arranging it to a high standard, making it an attractive event for Gulf Co-operation Council visitors, tourists, and residents.
He also commended the restoration of historic houses and the museums in Muharraq, noting their exhibitions of Bahrain’s heritage, traditional crafts, and the pearl industry, reflecting the dedication and perseverance of the Bahraini people.
He wished the festival organisers continued success.
On their part, the ambassadors expressed their appreciation to the Foreign Ministry and the Baca for arranging the visit.
They commended the festival’s diverse activities, folk performances, and heritage sites, noting their importance in promoting Bahrain’s cultural heritage and tourism, and wished the kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
