His Majesty King Hamad yesterday received Arab League secretary general Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who is in Bahrain to attend the seventh annual forum of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (Derasat).
His Majesty welcomed Mr Aboul Gheit and his participation in the forum.
He wished him and all participants success in helping to expand co-operation among Arab states in research and strengthen joint action.
The King expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the League secretary general to enhance solidarity among Arab states, defend their causes and safeguard achievements.
His Majesty emphasised the kingdom’s support for efforts by the League.
Mr Aboul Gheit expressed his gratitude to His Majesty for Bahrain’s continued support for the League and its role in serving Arab causes and enhancing joint action.
He commended the kingdom’s firm stance in supporting Arab causes and defending its interests under the King’s leadership.
