His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has directed officials to provide 7,000 housing services to citizens.
This is in line with the orders of His Majesty King Hamad to accelerate the delivery of 50,000 new housing units.
HRH Prince Salman’s directives coincide with Bahrain’s National Day, the 26th anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to the throne as well as the accompanying national events.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace yesterday, he tasked the Housing and Urban Planning Ministry with taking the necessary executive measures towards these efforts.
The minister, Amna Al Romaihi, later announced the start of implementation procedures to deliver the housing services to citizens.
The planned services include allocating housing finance and handing over a number of ownership-service projects in housing cities.
She expressed gratitude to His Majesty and to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for their continued support for the social housing sector.
The minister said Bahrain remains committed to providing social housing services in line with the targets set out in the Government Plan 2023-2026.
The ministry has begun co-ordinating with financing bodies and participating banks to disburse funding to beneficiaries, she said.
Ms Al Romaihi highlighted that technical and engineering teams have also started identifying completed projects and those at advanced stages, in preparation for handover under ownership services.
Lists of beneficiaries are being finalised and will be contacted in phases to complete procedures.
