Bahrain’s Police chief has praised the high level of co-operation between the Interior Ministry, the Health Ministry and healthcare institutions, supported and overseen by the Supreme Council of Health (SCH).
Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan stressed that sectoral integration is a key pillar in national development and public service during a meeting with Health Ministry Under-Secretary Dr Lulwa Showaiter and Government Hospitals chief executive officer Dr Maryam Al Jalahma.
Interior Ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, along with representatives from relevant departments of both the ministries and the SCH, attended the meeting.
The meeting followed a Cabinet directive assigning the Interior Ministry to co-ordinate with the Health Ministry on developing ambulance operations.
The discussions also highlighted joint efforts to improve the quality of services provided to citizens and residents, enhance emergency response readiness and ensure the provision of first aid to patients before reaching hospitals.
The meeting further addressed means to develop ambulance services and emergency medicine in collaboration with government hospitals and health centres.
