Representatives of the executive and legislative authorities have expressed their gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad for his directive to reach an agreement between the two branches.
This step reinforces the principle of co-operation between authorities as stipulated in the National Action Charter and the Constitution of Bahrain, they affirmed, pledging to implement His Majesty’s visions, which place Bahraini citizens at the core of comprehensive development.
Their joint statement also emphasised the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, regarding the continued development of government services provided to citizens, in line with the Government Plan and the consensuses reached by the executive and legislative authorities. Both sides clarified that all initiatives agreed upon during their joint meetings were based on a mutual agreement, and that these initiatives and mechanisms are intended to finance support for low-income people and the middle class.
With regard to the mechanism for supporting electricity and water services for citizens’ primary residences, the executive authority confirmed that it had addressed all inquiries submitted by the legislative authority. However, differences of opinion remained concerning certain details related to implementation mechanisms, which fall within the jurisdiction of the executive authority.
The authorities reiterated their firm stance on all issues concerning citizens and their continued co-operation in enacting the necessary legislation to enhance the kingdom’s financial position while safeguarding citizens.
