His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has stressed the importance of sustained partnership between the executive and legislative branches in reaffirming the commitment to safeguarding public funds and preventing the misuse of resources.
This would further enhance spending efficiency in the service of the public interest and the kingdom’s far-reaching objectives, HRH Prince Salman said yesterday as he met Parliament Speaker Ahmed Al Musallam, Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh, and a delegation from the two councils, at Gudaibiya Palace.
“The Cabinet, through constructive co-operation with the legislative branch, decided to maintain existing electricity and water tariffs for the first and second tiers for citizens’ primary residences, and defer the development of related support mechanisms pending further study,” he said.
He also noted that the Cabinet approved several initiatives aimed at adjusting the kingdom’s fiscal situation, whilst ensuring the continuity of support for Bahraini citizens.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed his appreciation to the legislative branch for its constructive co-operation during the joint meetings with the executive branch concerning the package of initiatives designed to enhance financial stability and guarantee sustained support for citizens.
He affirmed the kingdom’s commitment to implementing national plans and initiatives aligned with a comprehensive vision, aimed at enhancing government workstreams.
“Citizens are the cornerstone of the kingdom’s progress, in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad,” HRH Prince Salman said, emphasising the importance of co-operation between the executive and legislative branches to serve Bahrain and its citizens.
He stressed the need to advance this partnership, highlighting its role in driving the implementation of plans and initiatives that benefit all residents.
HRH Prince Salman highlighted the importance of strengthening social services, enhancing support programmes, and optimising national resources to ensure Bahraini citizens are prioritised in services and entitlements, in accordance with royal directives.
The Parliament and Shura Council chiefs expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his unwavering commitment to strengthening co-operation between the kingdom’s executive and legislative branches, in support of achieving Bahrain’s desired goals and ensuring prosperity for all.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Finance and National Economy Minister Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, and several senior officials also attended the meeting.
