His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, yesterday issued Edict (79) of 2025, amending Article (1) of Decision No. (26) of 2008 concerning fees for the issuance and renewal of work permits and residency permits for the families of foreign workers.
The edict was issued based on the recommendation of the Labour Minister, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) chairman, and following Cabinet approval.
According to the edict, fees payable by employers for each work permit or its renewal covers the work permit, entry visa, no-objection certificate, residency permit, return visa, medical examination, and ID card, as well as the monthly fees for each foreign worker.
The annual fee will be collected proportionally to the duration of the work permit issued by the LMRA.
The Labour Minister, the LMRA chairman and all authorities concerned shall implement the provisions of this edict, which will take effect from Thursday, and be published in the Official Gazette.
