Families, students and volunteers will gather at the Malkiya beach on Friday for a youth-led Eco Awareness and Action Beach Cleanup at 2pm.
The three-hour initiative is being organised by WMC Toastmasters and Gavel Club, in collaboration with OneHeartBahrain, Urbaser Bahrain and Al Mahd School. It aims to unite families, schools, and community organisations under the message of ‘One Heart, One Community, One Earth.’
WMC Toastmasters members will greet participants, oversee waste segregation, assist younger children during the cleanup, and lead reflection and storytelling sessions at the end of the event.
An interactive Eco Bus – provided by Urbaser – will be on-site, offering hands-on demonstrations on waste management, recycling and sustainable living.
Participants will learn how everyday waste choices impact Bahrain’s marine and coastal ecosystems.
WMC Toastmasters president Roy Skaria said the initiative seeks to inspire young people to lead by example.
“Through communication, teamwork and service, Gavel Club members demonstrate how youth leadership can create real environmental impact,” he said.
