Six mosques will be constructed in Hamad Town within approximately 18 months, Sunni Endowments Council chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajri said. He made the remarks on the sidelines of the signing of six memoranda of understanding for the projects.
Dr Shaikh Al Hajri said the initiative reflects the council’s ongoing commitment to developing houses of worship in line with Bahrain’s urban progress.
He added that this comes as part of a project that the Sunni Endowments has launched to reduce the number of temporary prayer halls across the kingdom.
The mosques will be built with a total estimated cost of BD1.185 million, funded by charitable donors.
