A popular annual cultural festival that brings the magic of Manama alive has earned royal praise.
His Majesty King Hamad yesterday commended the success of the second edition of the Hawa Al Manama festival.
The festival, which celebrates the rich heritage of the Manama Suq and the cultural heartbeat of the kingdom’s capital, was held as part of Bahrain’s National Day celebrations.
The event featured a range of cultural, tourism and historical exhibitions, museums, activities and programmes that focused on a significant period in the history of Manama.
It highlighted the capital’s cultural and social diversity and attracted strong turnout from citizens and residents, as well as visitors from other countries.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Tourism Ministry, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority and all relevant entities for the organisation of the event.
The festival combined heritage, traditional arts, music, and entertainment.
The King noted that such initiatives support the tourism sector and contribute to preserving Bahrain’s cultural heritage.
His Majesty expressed hope for the organisation of further national events across all governorates and areas of the kingdom, aimed at reviving Bahraini traditions and values, highlighting popular heritage, strengthening national identity, and introducing Bahrain’s cultural and historical assets.
He highlighted the importance of documenting Bahrain’s cultural and civilisational heritage, raising awareness of it among citizens, residents and visitors and preserving it so that future generations remain connected to their history.
His Majesty reiterated support for initiatives that highlight Bahrain’s history and the values of its people, wishing the kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
The festival, which was extended for two days, ended yesterday.
