As part of the National Afforestation Campaign (Forever Green), implemented under the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), Youth Minister Rawan Tawfiqi launched the NIAD’s afforestation project at the Northern Sehla Youth Enabling Centre with support from Takaful International Company.
The project is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance vegetation cover at youth and community centres across the kingdom.
NIAD secretary general Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa; Takaful International Company Deputy CEO Abdulaziz Al Othman; and MP Hassan Ibrahim Hassan were present.
The event, implemented under the centre’s afforestation initiative, included the planting of 135 trees of the Golden Ficus and Acacia Glauca varieties, to improve the centre’s environment and create sustainable green spaces that provide a healthy and safe setting for a range of youth activities.
