Bahrain has welcomed the announcement by Syrian President Ahmed Al Sharaa regarding a new agreement reached with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The agreement aims for a ceasefire, the enhancement of security and stability in conflict areas, the integration of SDF into the Defence and Interior ministries, the reinforcement of state authority in the eastern and northeastern regions, and the transfer of control over oilfields to the state, among other measures that uphold the unity and sovereignty of Syria.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry underscored Bahrain’s firm and steadfast support for the security, stability, sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of Syria, as well as for the progress of its constitutional institutions.
The Foreign Ministry emphasised that this support reflects Bahrain’s commitment to helping fulfil the aspirations of the Syrian people for security, social stability, sustainable prosperity, and the restoration of Syria’s active role in its Arab and international surroundings.
