ADDRESSING emerging and transnational security threats was on top of the agenda as Bahrain and the United States held their fifth round of Strategic Dialogue yesterday.
The meeting also discussed ways of increasing co-operation in support of efforts to enhance security and advance shared interests.
Interior Ministry Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Under-Secretary Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa co-chaired the virtual talks with senior State Department’s Counterterrorism Bureau official Monica Jacobsen.
The meeting was attended by US Ambassador Stephanie Hallett.
Shaikh Hisham noted the importance of the meeting as a continuation of the outcomes of the visit of Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to the US.
He said the minister’s visit underscored strengthening frameworks of security co-ordination between the two countries.
The meeting was attended by Public Security Deputy Chief Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Financial Intelligence National Centre chief executive officer Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, along with officials from both sides.
