His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, yesterday met Commodore Dan Thomas, the newly-appointed Commander of the UK Maritime Component Command ME, at Gudaibiya Palace.
HRH Prince Salman affirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UK, which continues to advance across various fields, particularly in the military and defence sector.
He emphasised the importance of ongoing efforts to develop co-operation and advance longstanding bilateral relations and joint agreements, including the Comprehensive Security and Integrated Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), to achieve shared goals.
HRH Prince Salman noted the UK’s pivotal role, alongside allied countries, in safeguarding regional and global security and stability.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister welcomed Commodore Thomas to Bahrain and extended his best wishes for success in his new role.
Latest regional and international developments, ways to strengthen bilateral relations and issues of common interest were also discussed.
Prime Minister’s Court Minister Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also attended the meeting.
