The Legislative Authority held a joint meeting with Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif Al Zayani to review Bahrain’s efforts to promote sustainable peace in the Middle East.
The Foreign Minister said the vision of His Majesty King Hamad underscores the importance of advancing sustainable peace regionally and internationally. He noted that the Middle East is undergoing a critical and complex phase marked by political, security and humanitarian crises, foremost among them the war in Gaza and conflicts in several neighbouring countries.
He explained that Bahrain’s decision to join the ‘Board of Peace’ followed His Majesty’s acceptance of an invitation from US President Donald Trump, stressing that the move reflects the kingdom’s commitment to supporting the full implementation of the peace plan for Gaza, aimed at protecting rights and safeguarding the legitimate interests of the Palestinian people.
He added that the Board of Peace seeks to enhance co-operation, support stability, and promote development and prosperity, noting that the invitation reflects international confidence in Bahrain’s balanced role and its policy of dialogue, mutual understanding and respect.
