The Shura Council will discuss a draft law on establishing the headquarters of the International Date Observatory in the kingdom.
The proposed legislation ratifies an agreement between the Government of Bahrain and the International Date Council, attached to Royal Decree No (64) of 2025, paving the way for Manama to host the observatory as a permanent base for global data and research on the date sector.
Following a detailed review, the Shura Council’s foreign affairs, defence and national security committee has recommended approval of the draft law, confirming that it is constitutionally and legally sound.
