Customs president Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, led Bahrain’s delegation to the World Customs Organisation Technology Conference and Exhibition 2026, hosted by the UAE.
Shaikh Ahmed said the conference offered an opportunity to review modern customs technologies, exchange expertise among member states, and support the development of customs operations, border security and trade facilitation in line with international best practices.
The conference addressed border security, customs resilience amid global challenges, inspection and scanning technologies, risk management, cloud computing applications and digital trade facilitation.
The Bahraini delegation also toured the accompanying exhibition, which showcased advanced systems and single-window solutions aimed at simplifying customs procedures and supporting efficient global trade.
