Bermuda Premier David Burt yesterday visited the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) and was received by Sustainable Development Minister and Bahrain EDB chief executive officer Noor Al Khulaif, Industry and Commerce Minister Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bermuda’s Special Representative - Middle East, alongside senior officials from the investment promotion agency’s management team.
Ms Al Khulaif reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to fostering international partnerships, collaboration and knowledge exchange, highlighting the kingdom’s numerous competitive advantages, including its strategic location, agile regulatory framework, and highly talented workforce, which have reinforced its position as gateway for investment in the region.
Mr Burt highlighted the strong similarities between Bahrain and Bermuda as agile, forward-looking island economies. He showcased Bermuda’s established strengths in financial services, particularly in insurance and reinsurance, and emphasised the strong complementarity with Bahrain’s longstanding position as a regional financial hub.
He also reiterated the opportunity for deepening collaboration with the kingdom, highlighting the various potential areas for co-operation.
