Long-time Bahrain resident and former Indian Club president Anand Lobo died yesterday, reports Naman Arora.
In an official letter, the Indian Club management, represented by general secretary Anil Kumar, announced the news of Mr Lobo’s demise and conveyed condolences.
“The club’s thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr Lobo during the difficult time,” the letter, seen by the GDN, said.
“May God almighty give strength to his family to bear the loss.”
According to online reports, Mr Lobo, an Indian expatriate, was 62 at the time of his death. The cause of death was not revealed.
Bahrain Keraleeya Samajam president P V Radhakrishna Pillai also posted the news on Instagram.
He called Mr Lobo ‘a man of wit, vibrance, and boundless energy’, adding that for more than three decades, Mr Lobo was an integral part of the Indian diaspora in Bahrain.
