The Supervisory Committee for the elections of the Amwaj Islands Central Owners’ Association met on Wednesday, as part of preparations for the election of the Association’s Board of Directors.
The meeting was chaired by Abbas Abdulmohsen Radhi, with Dr Lamyaa Mahmood and Jaffar Isa as members.
The Committee confirmed that the deadline for meeting nomination requirements closed on Tuesday, in line with the approved election timetable.
Sixteen candidacy applications were reviewed, resulting in the approval of thirteen after meeting all required conditions, while three were rejected for incomplete requirements.
The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, integrity and equal opportunity throughout the electoral process.
The approved candidates are: Ahmed Al Salloom, Ahmed Al Matrook, Ahmed Khalfan, Elias Qaraan, Jassim Abdul Aal, Dua’a Bakhsh, Rashad Zainal, Suzan Rahimi, Abdulla Al Rayes, Abdulla Shehab, Mohammed Al Ghanah, Mohammed Taqawi, and Mohammed Sajid.
Approved candidates would be invited to a forthcoming meeting to outline vote-counting procedures for the next stages of the election.
