Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace.
The Cabinet praised the address delivered by His Majesty King Hamad, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, during his visit to the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), on the BDF’s 58th anniversary.
The Cabinet highlighted the importance of the bilateral defence agreement between Bahrain and France, which was signed during the talks held between His Majesty and French President Emmanuel Macron during His Majesty’s official visit to France at the invitation of President Macron.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty on the anniversary of the National Action Charter, and congratulated Bahraini citizens on this national occasion.
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of HRH Prince Salman’s official visit to Kuwait, during which meetings were held with the Amir of Kuwait Shaikh Meshal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait’s Crown Prince Shaikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Mubarak Al Sabah, and Shaikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Kuwaiti Prime Minister.
The Cabinet expressed its appreciation to Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people, for the hospitality and warm welcome extended to HRH Prince Salman and the accompanying delegation.
The Cabinet condemned the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, during Friday prayers. The Cabinet expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Pakistan, as well as to the families of the victims, and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The Cabinet reviewed several memoranda submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, approving the following:
1. A draft law amending some provisions of the decree law regulating agricultural banks.
2. A draft resolution regulating licences for media and advertising activities, aimed at enhancing content quality and protecting the rights of individuals and consumers.
3. Several areas of co-operation between Bahrain and Morocco.
4. A joint declaration between the Industry and Commerce Ministry and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation to establish the Unido Regional Centre for Prosthetics and Rehabilitation in Bahrain.
The Cabinet reviewed the following:
1. Statistics on building permits issued from 2022 to 2025.
2. Updates to the Social Development Ministry’s priorities framework.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following ministerial reports:
1. The closing ceremony of the joint tactical exercise for the security agencies of the GCC countries, Arabian Gulf Security 4.
2. The outcomes of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s visit to Bahrain.
3. The outcomes of Kuwait’s Minister of Foreign Affairs’ visit to Bahrain to lead Kuwait’s delegation at the meeting of the Joint Higher Committee between Bahrain and Kuwait.
4. The outcomes of the ministerial meeting organised by the US State Department to discuss the requirements for implementing agreements related to vital minerals.
5. The outcomes of the Foreign Minister’s visit to Slovenia, along with several Arab foreign ministers.
6. The participation of Bahrain’s delegation in the World Governments Summit 2026.
7. The outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Saudi Media Forum 2026.
