The Emperor’s Birthday (Tenno tanjobi) is an annual public holiday in Japan and the reigning Emperor’s birthday is celebrated on February 23.
His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito was born on February 23, 1960 and enthroned on May 1, 2019.
Emperor Naruhito visited Bahrain as a Crown Prince with Her Majesty the Empress in November 1994, and to this day, he recalls with beautiful memories of the warm reception and generous hospitality received during his stay in the kingdom.
That remarkable visit was followed by His Majesty King Hamad’s visit to Japan in 2012, and later by the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in 2019 to attend the enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito at the Tokyo Imperial Palace.
