Nadeen School hosts 2026 Bahrain Eco-Summit
Students from schools across the kingdom participated in a key event designed to inspire greater environmental awareness and promote sustainable practices.
Nadeen School hosted the 2026 Bahrain Eco-Summit yesterday at its campus in collaboration with the Bahrain Sustainable Schools Partnership (BSSP).
The partnership, founded in 2023, was originally launched through the inaugural Eco-Summit, hosted jointly by Bahrain Polytechnic and St Christopher’s School.
“It was a privilege to welcome 14 schools and more than 100 learners to share ideas, collaborate and explore ways to care for our environment,” said Nadeen School assistant principal and head of learning innovation Emma Pickering.
The Eco-Summit has rapidly established itself as a flagship sustainability event within the kingdom’s school calendar. It serves as a vital platform bringing together students, educators and environmental organisations to share ideas, showcase innovative initiatives and inspire collective action.
The event is designed to unite schools, sustainability partners and local organisations under a shared purpose: to strengthen environmental education across Bahrain and empower learners to lead meaningful change.
“Sustainability has long been an important part of life at Nadeen School and we’re proud to support opportunities that encourage learners to think thoughtfully about the world around them,” added Ms Pickering.

Throughout the day, participating schools engaged in learner-led presentations, hands-on sustainability workshops, planting activities and collaborative discussions.

Bahrain Schools Sustainability Partnership founder Mark Jones said: “By bringing together expertise from schools and industry partners, the Eco-Summit reinforces a powerful message that real progress happens when communities work collectively.
“This collaborative approach directly supports the BSSP’s objective to share good practice among schools while showcasing Bahrain’s organisations and their sustainability programmes,” he added.
The Eco-Summit continues to expand in scale and impact each year, providing learners with a vital platform to engage critically with real-world environmental challenges while developing leadership, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
