THE Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain’s annual Farmers Market concluded yesterday with great pomp and splendour.
Over the past month and a half, around 4,000 visitors enjoyed a truly Bahraini and elevated market experience every Friday, as the event came to life on the grassy lawns of the beachfront property in Seef District.
In the spirit of giving back to the community, the programme supported local farmers, who showcased and sold a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables.
The hotel also partnered with the Youth Affairs Ministry to highlight young Bahraini entrepreneurs selling varied items – from handicrafts and woodwork to homegrown food products like honey, healthy beverages and more.
Guests were also treated to live art displays, where talented local artists painted on canvases.
Children enjoyed a variety of attractions, including a petting zoo, pony rides, a bouncy castle and other fun activities designed to keep young visitors entertained.
Adding to the charm of the event were the delicious breakfast and lunch offerings prepared by the hotel’s talented chefs, served in a comfortable outdoor dining area under the open sky.
“The Farmers Market represents far more than a weekly gathering – it is a platform to champion local farmers, artisans, and sustainable sourcing while preserving Bahrain’s culinary identity for future generations,” the Ritz-Carlton’s executive chef Joergen Sodemann told the GDN.
“This season’s remarkable success and record attendance reflect a growing appreciation for conscious dining and community connection,” he added.
“We are especially proud that a portion of the breakfast proceeds this year will support a local charity, reinforcing our belief that hospitality should not only celebrate culture, but also give back to the community that inspires us.”
