Bahrain today celebrates its landmark achievements as it marks the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter.
Tributes were paid yesterday to His Majesty King Hamad’s vision in leading the march of development and progress towards achieving the hopes and aspirations of the people.
The King received cables of congratulations from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) president, senior Royal Family members, ministers and government officials.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted the significance of the National Action Charter as a pillar of Bahrain’s development process led by the King.
He noted its impact in bolstering the nation’s standing across sectors, fostering progress and prosperity over the past 25 years.
HRH Prince Salman emphasised that Bahrain’s developmental and national accomplishments were led by the King’s ambitious vision, as embodied in the National Action Charter, which serves as the foundation for the kingdom’s continued success.
He underscored the King’s approach in shaping a prosperous future for Bahrain and its people, enhancing the kingdom’s global competitiveness across economic, social and sporting fields, among others.
He also commended the dedication of Team Bahrain members across all sectors, acknowledging their collective efforts in advancing national development.
HRH Prince Salman reiterated his commitment to implementing His Majesty’s directives and aspirations for Bahrain’s continued progress and prosperity.
The King thanked HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his cable of congratulations.
He described the Charter as a historic milestone in Bahrain’s development, reinforcing national unity, participation and progress as part of the kingdom’s comprehensive development process.
The King commended HRH Prince Salman’s efforts in upholding the values and principles of the charter by leading the committee responsible for its implementation.
He also praised HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s role in achieving key developmental milestones through strategic initiatives and projects that have advanced Bahrain’s progress.
In the cable, HRH Princess Sabeeka extended congratulations to His Majesty, describing the anniversary as a defining milestone in Bahrain’s modern history that laid the foundations of a state built on the rule of law and institutions.
She noted that this year’s anniversary coincides with ‘Year of Isa Al Kabeer’, marking the legacy of the founder of the modern state and the leader of Bahrain’s modern institutional history, His Highness Isa Al Kabeer, Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, and with the SCW entering its silver jubilee.
HRH Prince Sabeeka highlighted the support extended by His Majesty to Bahraini women, emphasising that the National Action Charter marked a turning point in advancing women’s participation across national development domains and ensuring equal opportunities to contribute to decision-making and progress alongside men.
She expressed appreciation for His Majesty’s announcement on celebrating the centenary of formal government education for girls and the establishment of the first girls’ school in 1928.
She also emphasised the SCW’s commitment to continuing its work in partnership with the government, led by HRH Prince Salman, to implement the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women and ensure sustained progress and leadership for Bahraini women within the comprehensive development process.
In response, His Majesty thanked HRH Princess Sabeeka and commended her role, and the role of Bahraini women, in advancing the principles endorsed by the Charter.
