His Majesty King Hamad received journalist and author Sawsan Al Shaer, who presented the first copy of her book Isa Al Kabeer: Founder of the Modern State, at Al Sakhir Palace.
The book’s release coincides with the royal order naming this year “Year of Isa Al Kabeer,” in honour of the founder of the modern Bahraini state, and the 25th anniversary of the National Action Charter.
The meeting was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister; His Majesty King Hamad’s Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa; His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Royal Court Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa.
Ms Al Shaer provided a brief overview of the book, highlighting the life of Isa Al Kabeer, his role in building the modern state, and the achievements during his reign.
The King expressed appreciation to the author for her efforts in producing this distinguished work, and highlighted the contributions of all those involved in its preparation and publication.
The King recalled the remarkable life of Isa Al Kabeer, noting his values and the lasting legacy of the legal and civil institutions he established, which continue to benefit Bahrain today. He expressed pride in the achievements of Isa Al Kabeer, whose leadership brought political stability, security, and economic prosperity, creating a modern national state with a unique identity that was ahead of its time.
