His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has directed the inauguration, restoration and development of 60 mosques under the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments across the kingdom’s governorates, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance places of worship.
HRH Prince Salman, who chaired yesterday’s Cabinet meeting at Gudaibiya Palace, instructed officials that the necessary budget be allocated to implement the reconstruction plan while preserving Islamic architectural identity.
He further directed the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry to co-ordinate with relevant authorities to expedite the design, construction, restoration and development.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad on the advent of Ramadan.
The Cabinet commended the outcomes of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s recent visits to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Oman.
In this regard, the Cabinet highlighted his successful meetings with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; UAE President Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; and the Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to Saudi Arabia on its Founding Day anniversary, commending the kingdom’s achievements and successes across various sectors.
The session also extended its congratulations to the winners of the fifth edition of the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to Achieve Sustainable Development Goals, as well as the participants of the 52nd edition of the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.
The Cabinet then noted the success of the World Entrepreneurship and Investment Forum 2026 and the active participation it received.
It also commended the engagement of public and private sector entities in Bahrain Sports Day through the organisation of distinguished sporting events.
The Cabinet welcomed the recognition of the villages of Buri, Karrana, Budaiya, and Hoora under the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation initiative for their efforts in tackling food waste and loss.
The session reviewed several memoranda submitted by ministerial committees and ministers, approving the following:
1. The adoption of executive steps for implementing the principle of mutual recognition in the transfer of imported foreign food commodities.
2. The plan for events during the holy month in Bahrain, as well as preparations for the Eid holidays.
3. The expropriation of several properties for public benefit to provide space for urban development.
4. The government’s response to several proposals submitted by Parliament.
The Cabinet then reviewed the following:
1. The ministerial committee for development and infrastructure projects for 2025.
2. Progress of Information Ministry’s projects in line with the Government Programme (2023-2026).
3. Progress on the launch of the ‘Youth Support’ initiative.
The Cabinet also reviewed the following ministerial reports:
1. The 13th edition of the Bahraini Farmers Market for 2025-2026.
2. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the Baker Hughes Annual Meeting.
3. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 52nd UN Tourism Regional Commission for the Middle East and the Conference ‘Promoting Tourism Through Artificial Intelligence’.
4. Outcomes of Bahrain’s participation in the 22nd session of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Information Ministers.
