His Majesty King Hamad arrived in Washington, DC, to participate in the first meeting of the Board of Peace, at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
He was received on arrival by Bahrain’s Ambassador to the US Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid Al Khalifa and a number of senior officials.
His Majesty expressed appreciation for the invitation extended by President Trump to participate in the first meeting of the Board of Peace.
He emphasised Bahrain’s firm commitment to supporting international efforts to promote security, peace and stability in the Middle East and beyond, and advancing dialogue and co-operation to address regional and international challenges.
The King welcomed the American president’s efforts to promote sustainable peace in the Gaza Strip, support its reconstruction, implement the peace plan proposed for Gaza, protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and enhance regional and international stability.
“Bahrain’s participation reflects its belief in the importance of joint action to address crises and conflicts, support peaceful solutions based on dialogue and diplomacy, protect civilians, safeguard interests and lay the foundations for lasting peace and prosperity in the region,” he said.
His Majesty expressed hope that the meeting would help launch a practical and constructive path to boost international co-operation and support efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace for the benefit of the peoples of the region and the wider world.
