Following the directive of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to open, renovate and restore 60 mosques under the Sunni and Jaafari Endowments Directorates, Jaafari Endowments Council chairman Yousif bin Saleh Al Saleh inaugurated Al Khawaja Mosque in Manama.
Mr Al Saleh highlighted the kingdom’s ongoing efforts in constructing and maintaining mosques under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad. He also emphasised the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister in expanding and developing the mosque network to serve citizens and residents.
He noted that Al Khawaja Mosque holds significant historical value for the residents of Manama and Bahrain, and is one of the main mosques situated at a prominent location near the entrance of the old Manama suq.
