An urgent proposal to create a centralised digital recruitment platform for teachers and education staff is set to be debated during Parliament session on Tuesday.
The proposal, submitted by five MPs led by Mohammed Al Olaiwi, calls for the establishment of a unified database, under the supervision of the Education Ministry, covering all government and private schools, colleges, nurseries and other educational institutions.
Mr Al Olaiwi described the platform as a ‘strategic tool’ to manage educational human resources based on accurate data rather than reactive hiring.
“The proposed platform will enable precise monitoring of available specialisations, analysis of supply and demand trends and anticipation of future needs in light of school expansion or demographic changes,” he said.
Under the proposal, a comprehensive database would be created containing profiles of all applicants for teaching and support staff positions. Individuals would submit applications electronically through the Education Ministry’s official website, while the ministry would oversee recruitment processes and performance follow-up.
The MP added that the proposal aims not only to regulate hiring but also to address unemployment.
