The Permanent Mission of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, acting on behalf of the member states of the GCC, has sent a letter to UN Secretary General António Guterres.
The move comes in Bahrain’s capacity as chair of the current 46th session of the GCC, with the aim of urgently drawing attention to the malicious Iranian missile attacks that targeted a number of countries in the region.
The letter conveyed the GCC states’ strongest condemnation and denunciation of the blatant Iranian attack that targeted GCC member states and Jordan, describing it as a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a clear breach of the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The GCC countries affirmed their full solidarity with, and support for, the states affected by these attacks, stressing that the security of nations is indivisible and that any infringement on the sovereignty of any member constitutes a threat to the security and stability of the region as a whole.
