Sunni Endowments Council chairman Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajeri highlighted the role of personnel stationed at borders and security frontlines in protecting countries and safeguarding the stability of societies amid the challenges and attacks witnessed in the region.
Delivering the Friday sermon at the Shaikh Isa Mosque in Riffa, Shaikh Rashid noted that one of the most important foundations of security in any society is those who dedicate themselves to protecting their nation and safeguarding its security.
He said that safeguarding the nation is not limited to military duties alone, noting that individuals serving in both military and civilian institutions contribute to protecting national security in different areas, including political, social, media, cyber, community, and policing.
Shaikh Rashid also highlighted a Hadith by the Prophet Mohammed praising those who remain steadfast in protecting their communities.
He noted that religious texts emphasise the value of remaining committed to the posts entrusted to them and carrying out their duties with sincerity and discipline in safeguarding society.
He added that Islamic teachings also highlight the importance of vigilance in protecting communities, noting that safeguarding the nation is regarded as an honourable duty. Shaikh Rashid said such service reflects integrity and discipline and contributes to maintaining security and stability in society.
Concluding the sermon, Shaikh Rashid wished His Majesty King Hamad and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, abundant health and prayed for the safety of the personnel protecting Bahrain and maintaining its security and stability.
