National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa received Commander of the US Marine Forces Central Command Lieutenant General Joseph Clearfield.
The meeting was attended by Commander of the Royal Guard’s Special Operation Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Adviser Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa and US Ambassador Stephanie Hallett.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser expressed pride in the longstanding ties between Bahrain and the US, which have spanned many decades and are based on close co-operation and joint action in all domains.
He noted the importance of continuing to build on the strategic agreements and partnerships that have been achieved, the most recent of which is the Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), in a manner that serves mutual interests and benefits all.
The meeting discussed latest regional and international developments, and highlighted the importance of continuing co-ordination and consultation to support regional and international peace and stability.
