New York: Bahraini fashion house Noon By Noor showcased its fall/winter 2018 collection during New York Fashion Week.
Designers Shaikha Noor bint Rashid Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya bint Mohammed Al Khalifa presented their collection for the 12th time at the prestigious industry event before an audience of editors, journalists, buyers and celebrities.
Sitting in the front row were American entrepreneur and style icon Olivia Palermo - wearing Noon By Noor’s Pre-Fall 2018 sleeveless tailored jacket, Folk Stripe cuff shirt, and black pants - and British writer, host, model and fashion designer Alexa Chung, in a black drape wool slip dress from Pre-Fall 2018.
Also seated in the front row were Alessandra Ford Balazs in Spring/Summer 2018 ladybug pants and oversized knit, Chloe Lukasiak in Fall 2017, Nastia Liukin and J Alexander.
Top models to walk the show included Blanca Padilla, Lia and Odette Pavlova.
For Noon By Noor’s Fall/Winter 2018 collection, Shaikha Noor and Shaikha Haya drew inspiration from Bahrain’s starry night sky setting a poetic whimsical narrative.
This is expressed in light fluid silhouettes, lux gold accented fabrics, Arabic script quoting “to the moon and back” and delicate feather hand worked embroidery referencing the Bulbul – the national bird of Bahrain.
“We contrast fluid draped silhouettes with tailored masculine shapes, which attests to our brand’s aesthetic,” said Shaikha Noor.
Shaikha Haya added that “Fall 2018 focuses on contrasting fabrication, clean silhouettes and sharp tailoring complemented by delicate details.”
