Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov received Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) chairman Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, who is taking part in the Tatar celebrations of the 1,100th anniversary of the official adoption of Islam by the Bulgar peoples in the Volga Basin.
The SCIA chairman presented Mr Minnikhanov a replica of the message sent by the Prophet (PBUH) to the ruler of Bahrain and its people in the eighth Hijri year corresponding to 630 AD, upon which they accepted Islam voluntarily, about 1,435 years ago .
