FIFA has tapped Bollywood star Deepika Padukone to unveil the World Cup trophy at the finals, according to reports.
The 'Om Shanti Om' star is one of the most popular celebrities in India and her star power is on the rise internationally too.
The 36-year-old will become the first actor to unveil the trophy in the history of FIFA, in a further testament to the rising influence of Bollywood on the international stage.
Recently, Nora Fatehi, another Bollywood actress performed at the FIFA Fan Fest. Fatehi had featured in one of the official World Cup songs, which she performed during the Fan Fest.
