His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian work and youth affairs and Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) honorary president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has welcomed the riders participating in the Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Showjumping Championship, expressing confidence in seeing the kingdom’s showjumping sport making further progress.
Shaikh Nasser has also directed to allocate three cars as prizes for fans during the showjumping championship, which will take place on Saturday at the Military Sports Federation premises in Al Raffa, in addition to BD10,000 worth cash prizes for the winners of top places.
More gifts and prizes will be announced for the audience and participants in the Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Endurance Cup, to be held on March 18.
Shaikh Nasser stressed the importance of providing continued support for equestrian sports in the kingdom in order to translate the directives of His Majesty King Hamad to support these sports and preserve their legacy in the history of Bahrain.
Shaikh Nasser pointed out that allocating these prizes and gifts comes in the light of the desire to encourage stables, riders and athletes and allow the equestrian sports in Bahrain to reach new heights.
Shaikh Nasser added that the kingdom’s athletes have managed to showcase great performances locally in the current showjumping season.
Breef showjumping committee member Dana Al Wardi, meanwhile, thanked Shaikh Nasser for supporting equestrian sports.
The Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Showjumping Championship will consist of six contests.
