Muharraq is set to face Oman’s Al Seeb tonight at 9pm in the second leg of the opening qualifying round of the King Salman Club Cup 2023 at Seeb Sport Stadium.
Muharraq defeated Oman’s Al Seeb 2-0 in the first leg at the Shaikh Ali Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Stadium last month.
Victor Murillo put Muharraq ahead in the 21st minute and Hassan bin Haddish extended the lead by converting a penalty in the 44th minute.
The 2022 AFC Cup winners are the title holders of the Oman Professional League are currently ranked sixth after 18 games with eight games left and thirteen points behind leaders Al Nahda.
Al Seeb are two-time winners the Oman professional league, four-time winners of the Sultan Qaboos Cup, and two-time winners of Oman Super Cup.
If Muharraq win through the two-legged round, the Wolves will face the winners from Tunisia's Monastir and Yemen's Fahman Abyan in the second qualifying round in June.
If the qualifying round is cleared, bigger challenges await Muharraq as the group stage consists of Saudi Arabia’s Al Nasser with their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Egyptian giants Zamalek.
The thrilling group stage takes place from July 15 to August 5.
