The Northern Municipal Council has unanimously approved a proposal to place a model Banoosh (dhow) near the intersection of Budaiya and Salman Town as part of efforts to beautify the area.
The dhow, a generic name given to various kinds of ships that have been used in the past for the purposes of fishing, diving and pearling, as well as early passenger and cargo transportation, remain popular with locals and tourists alike .
