Al Najma defeated Iran’s Shahid Shameli Kazeroon, 36-33, to rack up their third consecutive Group B win in the 25th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship currently underway in Isfahan, Iran.
But, despite their three-game winning streak, Al Najma are third in the six-team table with six points from their three wins and a loss to Al Kuwait in their very first game of the tournament.
Qatar’s Al Duhail lead the table, also with six points from three wins and a loss but are ahead of Al Kuwait, who have the same points tally from the same results in their four matches, and Al Najma.
Since only the top two teams from each group will go into the semi-finals, each of Al Najma, Al Kuwait and Al Duhail will want to win their last group matches today against RKOR Tashkent, China’s Junior Club and Shahid Shameli Kazeroon respectively.
