The Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) yesterday approved MP Abdulnabi Salman, first deputy speaker of the Parliament, as a member of IPU’s Standing Committee on Peace and International Security, representing the Arab Group.
Speakers and representatives of Arab parliaments participating in the IPU’s 147th Assembly and related meetings held a co-ordination meeting in which they had agreed to nominate MP Salman as a member of the committee for the next two years .
