ENJOY fun workshops covering a range of activities at Al Jasra Handicrafts Centre, organised by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (Baca).
A Beekeeping workshop will be held as part of the Young Artisan programme, and it will explore the role of bees in nature and the therapeutic properties of honey.
The event for children aged between five and 12 will be held on Saturday, from 4pm to 6pm.
An Islamic Decoration Art workshop will give participants a historical overview of Islamic decoration, besides teaching them elements of plant decoration, the practice of drawing an ornament with integrated elements and more.
The workshop will be open to those aged 14 and above on Monday and Tuesday, from 4pm to 6pm.
A Pottery on the Wheel workshop will cover topics including types of clay and tools used in shaping, methods of clay wedging and kneading and how to sculpt wheel potter clay.
Two sessions will be held for the same workshop – one from 10am to 12.20pm and the other from 4pm to 6.30pm, on Saturday.
